IC Components

If you are interested in electronic area, you must learned about PCB and IC. But, do you know whats the meaning of them? Today, lets learn about the difference between PCB and IC.

PCB is the support body of electronic components and the carrier of electrical connection of electronic components. Because it is made using electronic printing technology, it is called a "printed" circuit board. Since the introduction of PCB has been introduced in the previous news, it will not be repeated here.

Next, lets learn what is IC.

Integrated circuits (IC) are a type of miniature electronic device or component. By employing certain manufacturing processes, the necessary transistors, resistors, capacitors, and inductors, along with the interconnections, in a circuit are fabricated on a small piece or several pieces of semiconductor chips or dielectric substrates. They are then encapsulated within a casing to form a miniature structure with the desired circuit functions. All components are structurally integrated, representing a significant step towards miniaturization, low power consumption, intelligence, and high reliability in electronic components. In circuits, they are denoted by the letters "IC".

Integrated circuits can be categorized into three major classes based on their functions and structures: analog integrated circuits, digital integrated circuits, and mixed-signal integrated circuits.

IC have the advantages of small size, light weight, few leads and solder joints, long life, high reliability, and good performance. Additionally, they are cost-effective and easy to produce in batch.

Next we will learn about the difference about these two electronic components.
